Taking care of business.

I know I said this sometime last month, but this month has started on a good note. I’ve been getting a lot of new clients for Holdfire Network, new design clients, and I’ve even won a few contests (which is worth about $69, not that much, but hey, it’s not like I had to use my own money.)

I also have another interview on Monday for Barnes and Noble, so I really hope this will finally be the last one I have to worry about for a long time. I’m getting very restless not having a full time job bringing in an expected pay every two weeks. I could really use the money too. After paying off a few things, I’m definitely going to be splurging on a new computer, hair do, tattoo, and getting my car fixed (realignment.)

Other then that, I’ve been working on transferring over clients to [another] new server that I just got. Then I have to go through all of my other clients to see what version of Wordpress they have installed, to ensure that it’s not 2.1.1 as I’m sure some of you have read about. I sent them an e-mail to upgrade this weekend, but for those that don’t, I’m not sure what I should do. I said I would suspend their accounts until they contact me to upgrade it, because this is a must, that all scripts be kept updated. I think after I run through the Wordpress upgrades, I’ll look through their sites for other scripts that could pose security issues. It’s been awhile since I’ve done manual searches, so I guess I’m do for it.

But I don’t want to do that all night. I want Mark to come over, because you know, I like when he’s around. He’s also thinking about getting a Macbook Pro. I hope he gets it, because I can’t wait to play with his mac. I’ll have to find a way to keep him off of it though, I told him that I’ll come over to play on it and he can go play Zelda on his Wii. ^_~

Upgrade your Wordpress to 2.1.2

Long story short: If you downloaded WordPress 2.1.1 within the past 3-4 days, your files may include a security exploit that was added by a cracker, and you should upgrade all of your files to 2.1.2 immediately.

Longer explanation: This morning we received a note to our security mailing address about unusual and highly exploitable code in WordPress. The issue was investigated, and it appeared that the 2.1.1 download had been modified from its original code. We took the website down immediately to investigate what happened.

They got rid of their old panel look, and are sporting a new one. They’re even using the infamous famfamfam icons :)
